10.05.18
In our latest issue AXIS vol.145, we interviewed with Mr. Markus Fischer, The German company Festo’s Head of Corporate Design in the feature “Breakthroughs in Product Design.”
Festo leads the world in automation technology, and is releasing future concepts with a breakthrough project called “Bionic Learning Network.” And Mr. Fischer said that the fundamental theme for the project is “How far we can go.” In other words, it is challenge to the limits.
The above movie is about the Bionic handling assistant, the prototype derived from analysis of the structure and function of an elephant’s trunk, which was introduced at the Hanover messe in last April. The man who explains to children gently is Mr. Fischer.
Festo has been inventing many “Bionic robots” as the following Airjelly and AirPenguin. They study the intelligence observable in the behavior of animals and fish, and link it to the evolution of the production process.
You can read the details in AXIS vol. 145.
