JIDA Standard Samples series

Japan Industrial Designers’ Association (JIDA) published the standard sample book series for designers and students. With a view to serve mainly industrial designers in specifying colors and surface treatment, they introduce a uniform standard for variety of finishing options, and translated their own settings of reference levels into numerical code and common wordings.

These are painstaking works developed on the longtime experience of veteran designers. Bilingual; Japanese and English

Standard Samples 1: Classification of the texture formed on resin surface by injection molding into ten levels etc.
Standard Samples 2: Metallic texture samples including mat metal color, half mirror, metallic molding, pearl molding, natural resin, and elastomer.
Standard Samples 3: 94 three-dimensional samples of R-shape.
Standard Samples 4: Metallic finish samples including chemical pretreatment, mechanical pretreatment (blasting, hair-line etc.) and coloring.
