The Prototype Archive 3 NEC AXES (2006)
09.07.31

Proposal for an interface that allows users to manipulate various search conditions as if operating a radio tuner in order to find desired information among vast amounts of data.
The mouse, keyboard and square display of conventional PCs are designed to handle information that possesses a relatively simple structure and are insufficient for more complex searches involving data. The NEC AXES aims to handle complex, multi-dimensional parameters in a more analog, intuitive manner. Search conditions are displayed on the circular display like a spider chart and the user narrows down the search incrementally by adjusting parameters on each axis using the knobs positioned around the screen.
